Back in the Day ~ Paulo Diaz

I slammed so hard on Friday that I couldn't skate this weekend but I watched Scott and Charlie skate. Scott is psyched on Paulo's skating and throws buttery nollies and fakie ollies over things. I watched Paulo skate a couple times years ago and he had so much pop that it was ridiculous. He was so light footed that he often seemed able to move almost ahead of his ollie.

I was looking for the Chaka Khan song "Ain't Nobody" when I came across this version from Breakin' which was one of Hollywood's first forays into Hip Hop. In this scene Turbo drops the knowledge on Kelly so she can join the crew. Of all the eighties hip-hop/rap movies, Krush Grove is my favorite but Breakin' may be the funniest. Have a great day.

Amazing Park in Gnarkansaw

Un-fricking-beliveable! Nick Gibson who is great guy and an amazing skateboarder was working a 9-5 job in Gnar-kan-saw when he was asked to help build and then manage a new indoor skatepark in his hometown. Lucky son of a gun. When you get to know him maybe you start to think he's got good karma. Here a video of the Team Pain guys building the park and some tricks. That's the European Union if you don't know. Cyril is holding it down with a trip to Amsterdam, some fine French cuisine, a backside tailslide and some flippy trick. "Bon chien" is "good dog" in French. Wherever you live, you have to road-trip.

Change is the nature of the universe

Our local skatepark is not the sickest park but we love it the most. It has the chillest vibe of any park I've been to. I hope you got to skate it and chill there. Thanks to whomever or whatever is responsible in the universe for letting us have it for so long. It has been great. Have a good weekend.
